Broncos of the Week 2/29-3/5

Delhi, NY - We are officially in the crossover season where some winter sports are still going on and some spring sports are firing up their seasons.  This week Bronco of the week features our first spring sport participant as well as an established regular to the Bronco of the Week arena

Anthony Ferrato

Sophomore | Oceanside, NY | Men's Lacrosse

Sophomore face-off man Anthony Ferrato is off to an incredible start to the lacrosse season.  His dominance of the faceoff area has been a huge factor in helping the Broncos to their first 3-0 start in head coach Sam Miller's tenure at Delhi.  Ferrato currently ranks among the top in the nation for NCAA III faceoff win percentage, winning 80% of his opportunities and for ground balls per game.  This week in games against SUNY Purchase and Vermont State Castleton, Ferrato won 35 of his 42 faceoff opportunities for a .833 win percentage.  In his three games this season, he also has 40 ground balls and has added one assist for the Broncos.

Zoe Rodi

Sophomore | Pine Bush, NY | Women's Track & Field

Zoe Rodi earns another Bronco of the Week honor this week after she had the highlight of the day for the Broncos at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championships.  Rodi dropped her new lifetime best in the 400 meters by a large margin and broke a 20 year old school record.  Her time of 59.37 seconds was her first time under 60 seconds in the event and broke the mark of 59.74 run by Cassi Williams back in 2004.  It was also good for 11th place overall in a meet that had athletes from 57 schools represented.

We are almost to the end of the winter sports season as only the NCAA Track and Field Championships remain this coming weekend.  However, there is plenty of Lacrosse on the menu and Softball will get underway next week!
