Bronco of the Week #7 Roberto Velasquez-Osorio, Marissa Lombardi

After another week of athletic performances in Delhi, we are pleased to announce another pair of Broncos who have been selected as our Broncos of the Week due to their outstanding performances in their respective sports. Roberto Velasquez-Osorio from the men's soccer team continues to shine on the pitch in his first season, while senior Marissa Lombardi led the women's cross-country team at the Golden Bear Invite last week.

Roberto Velasquez-Osorio had a remarkable week for the Broncos, contributing significantly to their two impressive victories over Pratt University and NAC opponents VTSU-Johnson, where they outscored their rivals 17-0. He recorded two separate hat-trick performances and assisted in a goal during both matches, amassing a total of 14 points across the two games.

In the first match, Velasquez-Osorio scored two goals in rapid succession, slotting one in during the 46th minute and another just a minute later in the 47th. He completed his second-half hat-trick only 14 minutes into the half, after assisting a teammate with an excellent one-two pass in the box.

In his second match of the week, Velasquez-Osorio notched his second consecutive hat-trick and fourth of the season with three more goals. He currently leads the NAC with 18 goals, which is seven ahead of the second-place player. He plays a vital role in the Broncos' leadership in points per game within the NAC with 3.5 per match and their unbeaten streak of eight games, with a record of (5-0-3) and an impressive goal differential of 39-4.

Marissa Lombardi 

Senior | Goshen, NY | Women's Cross Country

Senior Marissa Lombardi continues to lead the young women's cross-country team. She was the first to finish for the Broncos in the women's 6K race, placing 17th overall out of a field of 81 runners with a time of 25:49. Her 6:56 mile pace in the 6K performance contributed to the Broncos' seventh-place finish out of nine complete programs at the Golden Bear Invite
