Records: SUNY Delhi (3-0-1) | Clarks Summit (1-2-1)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Senior Anthony Cuellar (Liberty, NY) kicked off the day with a one-touch goal in the 3rd minute, thanks to a beautiful cross from Jared Daragjati (Staten Island, NY), who was making his first career start for Delhi. The cross came from outside the box in the corner and drifted just above a Clarks Summit defender, landing perfectly at Cuellar's foot.

  • Senior Michael Williams Jr. (Lake Grove, NY) got his season going with his first goal of the year in the 26th minute, putting away a blocked shot originally put in from freshman Matthew Pozo (Yorktown Heights, NY).

  • Delhi added two more goals rapidly in the second half, courtesy of freshman Roberto Velasquez-Osorio (Monticello, NY). He scored a fantastic goal from outside the box in the 53rd minute, receiving a pass from Cuellar. Just a minute later, in the 54th minute, he pounced on a loose ball in the box and slotted it past the keeper once again to the left.

  • Senior Justin Huallanca (Levittown, NY) joined the action with one of the best goals of the season, collecting a loose ball and unleashing a rocket into the top left corner from ten yards outside the box. The shot curled over the outstretched keeper from right to left, marking his first goal of the season.

  • Roberto Velasquez grabbed his third goal in the 63rd minute, assisted by Matthew Pozo, marking Pozo's first career assist for Delhi. This goal represented Velasquez's first-ever career hat-trick, and he achieved it all in the second half, recording all three goals within a span of 10 minutes. He has now scored four goals in his last two matches and five in his first four college matches ever.

  • The Broncos secured another clean sheet, extending their four-match streak, which marks their best start in the NCAA era. This backline was led by North Atlantic Conference Defender of the Week, Erik Kleczkowski (Staten Island, NY) who had another impressive match.

COMMENTS FROM COACH REUTEMANN:

"A really solid performance from the team today. Playing on grass for the first time this season caused us some problems adjusting to the flow of the game, but we managed to find ways to create chances. I thought our tireless work rate and internal desire collectively were something to take note of as we head into Wednesday's contest."

WHATS NEXT FOR THE BRONCOS
