Metzko Scores in Overtime for 1-0 Win Over SUNY ESF

DELHI, N.Y. (September 23, 2017) – A scoreless regulation between SUNY Delhi and SUNY ESF was quickly undone in overtime on the heels of a Griffin Metzko goal in the 93rd minute to ride the Broncos to a 1-0 extra time win. The win snapped a two-match skid for the Broncos, who are now 3-3. The Mighty Oaks now stand at 4-3.

Despite the Mighty Oaks leading, 8-4 in shots on goal, Delhi goalie Marcos Andrino kept the Broncos in the game with eight saves. And while both sides finished with 12 shots, it would be Metzko who found the back of the net when his long dribbler skidded through the legs of keeper Matt Hoppe at 92:50. The sophomore midfielder's score was the first and only shot of the brief overtime period. Hoppe finished with three saves on the afternoon for ESF.

SUNY Delhi was called on 17 fouls to SUNY ESF's 14, with a pair of yellow cards called on Austin Hutchins and Matthew Cassidy in the second half.
