DELHI, N.Y. (October 7, 2017) – A great defensive performance by the SUNY Delhi men's soccer team paid off in overtime, with Rommernio Morris' game-winning header off a corner kick lifting the Broncos to a 2-1 win over Berkeley NJ. Delhi rallied around six saves from goalie Marcos Andrino, including a second-half penalty kick save, and two more team saves to improve to 5-6 on the year. The Knights dropped to 10-3-1.

After a scoreless first half, the Broncos drew first blood in the 73rd minute when Alhasane Sako delivered a score off a long feed from Joseph O'Halloran. The celebration was short-lived, however, as the Knights' Hassane Camara tied the game three minutes later. Momentum appeared to be on Berkeley NJ's side, when O'Halloran was called for a handball in the box in minute 77, giving the Knights a penalty-kick opportunity. But Kevin Soares' PK was blocked away by Andrino to keep the match tied.

The match led to the Broncos' second overtime contest of the season. Just five minutes in, Morris connected on a Brody Rettle corner kick, heading the ball just over the goal line at 95:25. Berkeley NJ attempted to clear the ball, but were unable to do so before it crossed the plane. The goal was Morris' first score of the season, and Delhi's second overtime win of the year.

The Broncos were outshot, 19-10, but only trailed, 9-8, in shots on goal. Both sides each accounted for 21 fouls, with five yellow cards called on Delhi and one on Berkeley NJ. Griffin Metzko, Matthew Cassidy, Morris, Jostin Sarmiento and Tyler Magnon each got cautions, while the Knights' James Ashun was carded. Berkeley had nine corner-kick chances to Delhi's five.
