Broncos Kick Off Spring With Trip To Virginia

WILLIAMSBURG, VA (March 20, 2022) - The SUNY Delhi men's golf team traveled to Williamsburg, Virginia over the spring break to play in The Ruckus on the Jamestown Course at Williamsburg National Golf Club.  The men entered two teams into the competition with team A tying for eighth place posting a total score of 653 (327/326) and team B placing 11th with a total score of 676 (334/342).  The team title was won by McDaniel College from Maryland.

At the end of day one, the Broncos top team was tied for sixth place with their day one total of 327.  Leading the way that day was John Williamson, who posted a score of 76, the Broncos top round for the weekend by golfers on either team.  Williamson's round included an impressive 11 pars and two birdies while putting up only two double bogey's.  On day two, Delhi's depth showed as Andrew Saar led the team with his score of 79 followed closeley by Thomas Christoffersen with a score of 80.  Despite posting a better score of 326 on day two, the Broncos fell behind two teams that had strong day two performances to land at eighth.

For the B-team, day one resulted in a total of 334 strokes with a strong showing up front from Jordan Starley, who posted Delhi's second best round of the weekend with his score of 78.  Starley posted nine pars and two birdies in the round with only two double bogeys.  On day two, the squad was led by Gabriel Horsford who shot an 82 for the round. 

Next up for Delhi is the McDaniel College Invitational to be held at The Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania on March 26 and 27.
