Men's Golf Finishes Eighth at The Gauntlet

NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. (September 12, 2021) - The SUNY Delhi men's golf team's third competition of the 2021 season was a two-day competition at The Gauntlet, hosted by the Olde Homestead Golf Club. In a strong field of 11 teams, the Broncos finished eighth with a 640 combined score on the par-72 course. Delhi shot 319 (+31) on the opening day Saturday and 321 (+33) in the concluding day Sunday. 

Thomas Christoffersen made headlines for the Broncos with a 74 third-place score on Saturday. He followed with an 84 score Sunday for a 158 (+14) total to place 34th. Andrew Saar, the reigning NAC Rookie of the Week, and Thomas Long were next for Delhi with matching 162 (+18) ledgers, featuring a 78 Saturday from Long. John Williamson carried a 163, with Jordan Starley carding a 165. Individual competitor Sean Gordon was Delhi's top finisher overall with a 158 score, including a 78 on the final day.

York College won the team title with a 594, rising to the top with a 283 five-under score on Sunday, as their own Matthew Salter won the individual crown with a 144 even tally.

Head coach Dave Arehart's team heads to the Elmira invitational this Tuesday at the Elmira Country Club.
