Delhi concludes 2023 season at NCAA Regionals with every Bronco achieving a personal best

Houghton, NY – Delhi Men's and Women's Cross Country sent eight runners to the NCAA Regionals meet on Saturday, with every Broncos runner running a lifetime personal best. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • Every men's runner in the 8K race improved their position after the 5K mark, with senior John Amenta jumping 22 places in the final 3K to finish 44th with a time of 25:53.2.  

  • Sophomore Nathan Goodwin and junior Sam Lees were next for the Broncos, placing 86th and 106th out of a field of 176, respectively. Goodwin finished in 27:07.8, and Lees in 27:40.8, with sophomore Cheo Munford rounding out the team in 139th. 

  • On the women's side, senior Marissa Lombardi finished first for Delhi in 105th place out of a field of 145 with a time of 25:37.0 in the 6K race.  

  • Next up were freshmen Evie Eastman and Mary Bryant in 113th and 114th, with times of 26:02.3 and 26:03.6, respectively.  

  • Eden Carr also had a solid race with a time of 28:30.4, which saw her run her personal best 6K by over a minute in the final race of the season.

"An awesome finish to the season. This group has worked so hard all season; it's a great feeling to finish the season with everyone running a PR. We're excited to see how it translates to the track."
