Sophie Stewart Lands NAC Rookie Honors Following Debut at Hartwick

WATERVILLE, Me. (September 3, 2019) – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) announced today freshman Sophie Stewart (Newark Valley, NY / Newark Valley) as the Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week. She earned the league-wide praise following her first-place finish at Hartwick on Friday to lead the Broncos to a 22-34 dual victory.

The Newark Valley, NY native took the top spot in the 4-kilometer race with a time of 17:13 as the Broncos took four of the top five finishes. The Broncos finished six in the top ten for their second straight victory over the Hawks.

Stewart and the Broncos continue on this Saturday when they head to Poughkeepsie, NY for the Vassar Invitational.
