Men Take Third at UAlbany Invite to Cap Regular Season

ALBANY, N.Y. (October 12, 2018) – After a weekend off, the SUNY Delhi men's cross country closed out their regular season on Friday at the UAlbany Invite. Kobie Lane led Delhi with a second-place finish as Delhi took third with 98 points. The Broncos competed against a vast field consisting of NCAA Division I teams Colgate, Siena and UAlbany and Division II Adelphi, Mansfield and College of St. Rose. There were ten teams and 91 runners in total.

Lane completed the 8K course with a time of 25:32.1, just three seconds behind winner Evans Kibet from Siena. Abshir Yerow placed 14th at 26:47.0, as Lucas Reilly was the next Broncos finisher in 25th at 27:32.6. Ted Oster took 28th at 28:02.4, with Devon Benarick closing out the scoring in 29th at 28:06.0. Kevin Malen was Delhi's sixth finisher, coming in 36th at 29:05.9, and Nicholas Arnecke in his season debut placing 38th at 29:12.6.

Siena won the event with 33 points, while UAlbany placed second with 44 points. Colgate took fourth with 135 points and College of St. Rose fifth with 148 points.

The Broncos have two weeks to get set for their postseason competition as they look to defend their titles at both the ACAA and USCAA Championships. SUNY Delhi will host the ACAA Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 12:00 p.m., then head down to Virginia Beach, Va. to defend their USCAA national crown on Friday, Nov. 9.
