Jarod Rackliffe Chosen NAC Player, Rookie of the Year; Balogh, DeBonis Recognized in Year-End Honors

WATERVILLE, Me. (May 5, 2021) – Three members of the SUNY Delhi men's tennis were recognized in the North Atlantic Conference's (NAC) rollout of year-end honors. Freshman Jarod Rackliffe (Niskayuna, NY / Niskayuna) was named the Player and Rookie of the Year after turning in an undefeated singles season. He and Christopher Balogh (Westtown, NY / Minisink Valley) were named to the All-Singles and All-Doubles teams. The tandem served as Delhi's one doubles team, with Rackliffe playing the one singles spot and Balogh two. Sophomore Dominick DeBonis (Endicott, NY / Union-Endicott) was selected to the NAC Sportsmanship Team.

In a four-match season, Rackliffe went unbeaten at the top singles spot versus conference foes Northern Vermont Lyndon and Thomas, and non-conference matchups with SUNY Oneonta and Utica. Rackliffe and Balogh stood undefeated in their one-doubles conference matches with the top teams from NVU Lyndon and Thomas. Rackliffe was a three-time NAC Rookie-of-the-Week recipient, also earning Player of the Week for two of them. Balogh held a 2-2 record at two singles.

Thomas' Jose Afonse was honored as the NAC's Senior Scholar-Athlete, while NVU Lyndon's Laura Laramee was named the NAC Coach of the Year. NVU Lyndon won the league championship.
