Men's Golf places third at the NAC Championships, Christoffersen one stroke from top spot

Oakland, Maine - The Broncos wrap up another great season placing third in the North Atlantic Championships over the weekend. Delhi was led by Thomas Christoffersen who placed second overall, just one stroke from the top spot.

Delhi placed third overall out of a field of 11 North Atlantic Conference schools, including all four scorers placing in the top 20 on both days.

"The team was disappointed with the final result because winning is always the goal. They battled the breeze and cool conditions all day," said head coach Dave Arehart, "We know that hard work and effort is needed to continue improving like we did this fall season."

Thomas Christoffersen played two spectacular rounds, carding a 72 (+2) on the first day and a 71 (+1) on the second. He was just one point shy of the top place on the par 70 course. Christoffersen tied for first with total pars with an impressive 26, including nine straight on his final nine of the event. He was one of three golfers through the competition to card an eagle when he shot two under on the 488-yard par five. That would prove enough to be awarded with First Team All-Conference recognition after the event.

"Tom played amazing this weekend making 9 straight pars on his final 9 holes of the event," said Arehart, "He had a couple of terrific looks at birdie and hit putts that could have easily broken his way. He showed great leadership by being early to the course and late to leave all fall."

Delhi's second scorer, John Williamson, came in tied for 16th with a 78 (+8) and 80 (+10) through both days. He ended his tournament with 18 pars and two birdies. Then it was Branson Morrison for Delhi, placing in a three-way tie for 19th, carding an 80 (+10) on the first day and an 80 (+12) on the second. He ended up tying with Jordan Starley, Delhi's next golfer to place after he scored a 79 (+7) and an 83 (+4).

The Broncos ultimately fell short of their goal to win but played two great rounds through the event. They wrapped up their 2022 fall season and will now turn their focus to getting ready for the spring.
