Women's Harriers Eighth at UAlbany Muncey Invitational

ALBANY, N.Y. (October 15, 2021) - The SUNY Delhi women's cross country team made a Friday stop at the UAlbany Muncey Invitational, placing eighth in the field and led by Sophie Stewart posting a season-best 21:13.6 5K time. It marked the Broncos' final regular-season race, which consisted of teams across the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels.

Marissa Lombardi (22:08.5), Kailyn Oreglio (22:09.5), and Katerina Salcedo (22:14.1) took consecutive 55th, 56th, and 57th places, respectively. Mary Lyons was right behind them in 59th with a time of 22:22.9 to finish the team scoring. Kristina Messler was the sixth team finisher with a time of 23:03.2, while Shyanne Lawton came in shortly after at 23:13.1. Alexandria Caceres ran a time of 23:35.5, Anna Clarke 26:30.5, and Amber Scruggs 26:36.8. 

The Broncos and coaches Zach Brown and Ben Finnigan have two weeks to prepare for the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championships at Thomas College in Maine. Stewart, Salcedo, Lyons, and Lawton will make a return trip after helping Delhi win the league title at the last cross country championships back in 2019.
