Women's Runners Finish Strong at Vassar Ron Stonitsch Invitational

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (September 11, 2021) - The Broncos women put up a strong fight at this year's Ron Stonitsch 5K Invitational. Placing eighth as a team, the women put in a solid performance. The team was led by a really strong performance from freshman Kristina Messler (21:44.9) for 34th place. Messler was followed closely by Katerina Salcedo (21:50.5) in 35th. Next across the line for the Broncos was Sophie Stewart (22:23.00) for 40th across the line. The top five was rounded out by Marissa Lombardi (23:28.3) and Shyanne Lawton (23:32.5) with their 42nd and 44th place respective finishes.  

"Kristina continues to impress and show her potential," said head coach Zach Brown.

"Messler really went for it and it paid off. I was really excited to see a solid performance from the freshman. All of the girls put on a strong showing today, " said coach Ben Finnigan

Next up for the women is the SUNY Oneonta Airfield Invite Saturday, Sept. 18.
