Lombardi Leads Delhi Pack at SUNY Geneseo Pre-Regional

GENESEO, N.Y. (October 2, 2021) – SUNY Delhi women's cross country got their first glimpse of next months' regionals Saturday competing at the SUNY Geneseo 6K Mike Woods Invitational. Sophomore Marissa Lombardi led the Broncos, completing the course in 25:55.4.

Katerina Salcedo was nine spots behind Lombardi, logging a time of 26:08.0, while Mary Lyons was next for Delhi at 27:11.0. Sophie Stewart clocked in right behind her at 27:13.0 as Kaylin Oreglion rounded out the team scoring with a mark of 27:58.7. Also running for the Broncos were Kristina Messler at 28:40.7, Anna Clarke at 29:58.8, and Alexandria Caceres at 29:59.3.

The Broncos now have a snapshot of what their first Niagara Region championship race will look like six weeks from now on Saturday, Nov. 13. Delhi has three more races until then, starting with hosting the annual Bronco Midweek Classic this Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. at The College Golf Course. Their regular season finale finds them in New Jersey at the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle on Oct. 16, followed by the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championships Oct. 30 at Thomas College.
