WATERVILLE, Me. (October 10, 2021) - A penalty-kick goal from Micayla Slattery halfway through the second half was all the scoring needed in SUNY Delhi women's soccer's 1-0 NAC win at Thomas on Sunday. The Broncos split their NAC crossover series that began Saturday with a 2-0 defeat at Maine Maritime to improve to 5-1 in the conference and a 7-5 overall.

The Broncos continued their trademark of taking a vast lead in shots against their opponents, with today's total at 13-5, including 6-3 in shots on goal. A Delhi breakaway in the 70th minute led to a foul in the box, allowing Slattery to deliver her third goal of the season to provide what would be the deciding goal. Goalkeeper Rachael Scoones had three saves to log her third complete-game shutout of the year and improve to 6-5.

Through six league games, the Broncos are three games ahead in the NAC West standings with two more conference games and one non-conference on their remaining regular-season schedule. Delhi heads up to SUNY Poly on Saturday for a 12 noon NAC matchup. They then break off from NAC play when they head to Bard on Oct. 19, followed by their regular-season finale at home with SUNY Canton on Oct. 23.
