CAZENOVIA, N.Y. (October 2, 2021) - Freshman Dayanara Garcia's 79th-minute goal lifted the SUNY Delhi women's soccer team to a 1-0 NAC win at Cazenovia Saturday to keep the Broncos unbeaten in league play with a 4-0 record and 6-3 overall. Fellow newcomer Caterina Fox booted a ball from the left wing, meeting Garcia at the top of the box who fended off a Wildcats defender to bury the deciding goal to the left side.

Delhi's one-score win marked their first road victory of the season, coming at a great time with three NAC road matches on the schedule. The Cazenovia posed a threat to Delhi's unblemished NAC mark with a 14-11 lead in shots, including 10-5 in shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper Rachael Scoones was on-point coralling everything in her direction to come up with ten saves and boost her record to 5-3 on the season and second complete-game shutout. Kelsey Innes and Alexa DuBois led Delhi with four shots.

Head coach Zach Ward's team has a home non-conference match with Sage this Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. before embarking on a four-match road trip over the next two weeks. These include three NAC matches at Maine Maritime Oct. 9, Thomas Oct. 10, and SUNY Poly Oct. 16. A road non-conference at Bard has been scheduled for Oct. 19 at 7:00 p.m., after which the Broncos close out their NAC regular season versus SUNY Canton Oct. 23.
