DELHI, N.Y. (September 26, 2021) - Senior midfielder Alexa DuBois showcased two sniper goals Sunday to aid the SUNY Delhi women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Maine Farmington to improve to 3-0 in NAC play and 5-3 overall. Packaged with the Broncos' stifling defense, led by keeper Rachael Scoones and back-row mates Olivia Curry and Kayla Alsheimer, Delhi also swelled its unbeaten home record to 5-0.

DuBois fired the first goal less than five minutes in from the top of the 18 to the left of the goal. The Beavers evened the score later in the half when a high ball made its way towards the box, where McKenna Brodeur directed a header off the bounce over the charging Delhi keeper Rachael Scoones to the net for an even 1-1 score at halftime. DuBois again flashed her NAC-leading scoring abilities in the 59th minute, taking a dribbler from Micayla Slattery up the field with a 4-on-3 scoring chance, electing to take a shot from 25 yards out and hitting the top center of the net. Delhi's defense answered the call with another phenomenal outing, starting with Scoones tallying eight saves and her back row consisting of Curry and Alsheimer to stave off any serious Beaver threats. Curry's well-timed tackles and sweeps forced UMF into taking undesirable shots and keeping their chances at a minimum.

"We set out to finish this weekend with 6 points and stand at 3-0 in the conference," said head coach Zach Ward. "We were able to do just that after a really tough match with Farmington this morning. [UMF head coach] Molly Wilkie's squads have always been a tough group to navigate and today was no different. They gave us fits on the counter throughout the match. I don't think we ended the first half the way we wanted but the way we responded in the second half showed a lot about this group Delhi Women's Soccer players. We played all 90 minutes and managed the end of the game really well. This was a good test and we were able to pass. We are looking forward to the trip to Cazenovia this Saturday."

DuBois' two scores puts her at a league-leading 22 points on ten goals and two assists. It also marked her fourth multi-goal game of the season that includes two hat-trick outings.

As aforementioned by Coach Ward, the Broncos take their unblemished conference record on the road for the first time this season heading to NAC-West foe Cazenovia Saturday, Oct. 2 at 1:00 p.m.
