Women's Soccer Falls Short In Overtime

HENNIKER N.H. (September 10, 2021)- It's was a beautiful fall Saturday as SUNY Delhi Women's soccer team took on New England College in this weekend's New England College Classic.

 The Hawks scored first with a goal by Lauren Hobson at 10:59 into the game. Two minutes later they struck again with a goal by Madison Wheeler putting the Hawks up 2-0. As time was closing in on the end of the first period, the Broncos struck back with a goal by Kelsey Innes making the score 1-2, Hawks in the lead. Going into second period, the Hawks came out strong with multiple shots on goal with great saves by Sofía Gómez-Pedreira. Broncos answered back with shots on goal and with minutes left in the second period Dayanara Garcia gets an assist by Reanen Goodspeed and ties the score 2-2 to send the game into overtime. The Broncos were back in the game and ready to come out strong in overtime play but fell short as Leeann Demirjian from NEC scored the winning goal giving the Hawks the win 3-2.
