Delhi Drops First Game of Hat City Tournament to West Connecticut

Danbury, CT - The Broncos (2-9,0-3) traveled to take on Western Connecticut in their first game of the Hat City Tournament. They would put up a good fight against the one-loss Wolves but would be ultimately defeated 92-35.

The Broncos recorded five steals in the first half with freshman Yasmeen Kablaoui grabbing two of her own. They would struggle to shoot the ball though, going five-for-twenty-nine from the field. Point guard Angelica Lazo led the Broncos with nine points as they went into the half down 55-18.

Delhi would continue to fight in the second half, but the Wolves have defended their home court well this season, going undefeated through five games. Six of the seven Broncos that saw action tonight were able to get on the scoreboard. Lazo led the way for the Green and Gold with her season-high 14 points. Nicole Bryant also played solid, bringing down nine rebounds and adding four points.

Delhi will look to their second game of the tournament when they take on Mitchell College at 1:00 P.M. on December 31st.
