Delhi, NY - The Broncos (0-1) took on the Houghton Highlanders in their first match of the 2022-23 season but were defeated 66-36. Delhi displayed their new bolstered squad, hanging around with the Highlanders, an empire eight school, for the first half.

The Green and Gold came out strong and went into the second quarter up 9-8. They would start to struggle a bit in the second, going into the half down 26-17. The Broncos would fight hard through the second half, scoring 19 points, but the highlanders pulled away to win 66-36.

Delhi was led by junior transfer Jayda Allen, who led the team with 12 points and three steals. The Broncos shot well from deep as a unit, going four for ten from behind the line. Freshman Jenna Lubbers added her own four points to go along with a team-high nine rebounds in her first collegiate game. While freshman Aniya Jones put up the team-high five assists as well. 

The Broncos will look to regroup against Alfred State on Saturday, November 12th at 1 p.m. in Alfred, NY.
