Delhi Women's Basketball Falls to Oswego at Home

Delhi, NY - The Broncos lost to the Oswego Lakers Saturday 78-51 at Floyd L Maines Arena. Two players shined for Delhi as the Laker's big third quarter proved to be too much.

The Green and Gold held the game close through the first half, going into it down one. Their 16 points in the paint were a huge factor in the Broncos getting out and scoring. Aniyah Jones had a superb first half, scoring 12 points, while Angelica Lazo and Ma'Kira Busnie combined for 11.

The Lakers would go on a run in the third quarter to extend their lead. The Broncos fought back in the fourth, but it wasn't enough as Oswego took the victory. Freshman Aniya Jones would end with a career-high 22 points, shooting ten-for-thirteen from the field.  While junior Jayda Allen added her own 10 points and nine rebounds.

The Broncos played solid throughout the game, limiting turnovers and getting the ball down low. It just wasn't enough to stop the Laker's attack, as they scored 53 second-half points.

The women's basketball team will look ahead to their next match against RPI on November 22nd after the men's game at 7 P.M. in Delhi.
