Cross Country places 2nd and 3rd at Hamilton Tune-Up

Clinton, NY - Men and Women's Cross Country traveled to race at the Hamilton Tune-Up XC Invite with the women taking third place and the men finishing in second. The Men ran a 5k course while the women ran a 4k at Hamilton for their final race before the NAC Championships.

The Lady Broncos were led by freshman standout Alexa Walcott who placed second overall with a time of 15:00.6 in the 4k. With that new time, she has improved over 35 seconds from her first 4k on the season. She was then followed up by Kristina Messler who also had an excellent race, finishing 25th overall with a time of 16:32.1. Kailyn Oreglio was next for the Broncos with a 30th place finish and a time of 16:51.6. The Broncos finished third overall out of ten programs, with all five runners placing in the top of 44. 

The Men also had a very solid race following the women, placing second, right behind the hosts in a field of 11 teams. Sophomore John Amenta continues to have an excellent season, placing sixth overall with a time of 15:50.4. He has led the pack for the Broncos this year and will be a key runner for the Broncos in the NAC Championships. Seth Bywater was close behind, coming in ninth place with a time of 16:08.2. They were followed up by two superb freshman efforts, Nathan Goodwin placing 17th while Derek Leiter ended in 20th. 

The Broncos will turn all focus toward the NAC Championships next week, Saturday the 29th at SUNY Canton.
