The Broncos Place Fourth and Sixth at Vassar’s Ron Stonitsch Invitational

Both the men's and women's cross country team header to Vassar College early Saturday to take on their first 5k and 6k of the season.

The Men had a successful day with a fourth-place finish out of ten teams. For the most part due to John Amenta and Seth Bywater's top five finish in their first races of the season. Amenta had a great day, crossing the finish line fourth for the 6k with a time of 19:34. While Bywater started his season off with a solid fifth-place finish and a time of 19 minutes and 48 seconds.

The Women placed sixth out of the ten teams with another big race from last week, NAC Rookie Runner of the Week, Alexa Wolcott. She secured a fourth overall finish in the 5k with a time of 19 minutes and 43 seconds. With two top-four finishes in her first two races, Walcott has shown plenty of promise early in her Delhi career.

"Freshman Alexa Wolcott continues to show her abilities, finishing 4th overall in a deeper field of racers. Over a great team run for the women. Still, some work to do but this was good to see." said head coach Zach Brown on the meet, "On the men's side. John Amenta had a tremendous race, I'm excited to see what he can do at the end of the year. A couple of our freshmen guys had great races today as well. Next week will be a big meet as we head to pre-regionals in Rochester"

The Bronco's attention will now shift to the Pre Regionals-Invitational on Saturday, September 17th at Genesee Valley Park. This will be the first time both teams can test out the course they will eventually run at Regionals.
