Two Broncos Break the Course Record as Delhi Runs Away with the Win

Delhi, NY - It was a great day to be a Bronco at the SUNY Delhi Bronco Classic as both the men and women took home first place, with two runners breaking the course record

"John looked really smooth and relaxed today. He says he felt amazing, and the result showed that today. He's been having a tremendous season," said head coach Zach Brown, "Alexa went after it today with a race involving both men's and women's teams, I think that pushed her a lot and she has continued to race phenomenally."

The men's team filled up three of the top four spots including six in the top 10. They were led by John Amenta who ran a 15:38.7 and broke Kobie Lane's record of 15:52.9 from 2017. Seth Bywater and Aiden Cutting also had great days on the course coming in second and fourth. They scored 23 points as a team, 20 points ahead of second place SUNY Broome.

The women placed first as well, with five runners coming in the top seven. They also finished 20 points ahead of the second-place finishing team with 19 total points. Freshman, Alexa Wolcott ran an 18:48:20 breaking the record set by Victoria Campanion of Herkimer set in 2013. She is continuing her excellent first season here at Delhi with another race win. She was followed by Kristina Messler and Marissa Lombardi who placed fourth and fifth.

"I'm really happy with how the rest of the women's team raced today as well, a lot of great times individually and they raced really well together, said coach Brown, "A lot of college and/or lifetime PRs today. Both teams continue to show positive signs and grow in confidence as we get closer to the NAC championships."

The Broncos will now head to the Hamilton College Tune-up in Clinton, NY on October 22nd before turning to the NAC Championships
