LIVE STREAMING STATEMENT:

Hello SUNY Delhi Men's Lacrosse Fans,

It is with great regret we were unable to provide a live video stream for the first half of Saturday's game versus SUNY Canton. A power issue prior to the start of the game prompted us to make swift adjustments to our setup in order to conduct the game. This issue, unfortunately, knocked our video stream offline. We were still able to provide live stats for the game's entirety, which we hoped offered fans live updates until we could address our live-streaming at halftime. We were successful in rebooting our live stream in time to cover the second half, with the contest resulting in a 19-8 Broncos victory. While we take comfort that we at least could offer a unique live video experience for the conclusion of our game during these challenging times, we acknowledge that improvement on our end is still necessary. Please accept our sincere apologies on this matter. Every new endeavor comes with its own set of challenges in the beginning, which will only strengthen our capabilities for future broadcasts. We hope you will continue to tune in for upcoming home events. Thank you and go Broncos!

DELHI, N.Y. (April 25, 2021) – SUNY Delhi men's lacrosse returned to their home field for the first time in three years Saturday with a home NAC West meeting with SUNY Canton. The Broncos, who lost to the Roos by a 14-8 score in their previous matchup earlier this month, delivered sweet revenge on the Roos in the form of a 19-8 decision. Delhi also celebrated Senior Day Saturday with the coronation of graduating student-athletes Ryan Cumisky (East Quogue, NY / Westhampton Beach) and Brian Conti (Cortlandt Manor, NY / Putnam Valley). Head coach Sam Miller's team improved to 2-2 in league play (2-3 overall) and a leg up in the NAC West playoff picture with two games to play. The Roos are now 3-3 both overall and in-division to wrap up their regular season.

Conti and Cumisky were members of Coach Miller's first recruiting class, and the first to play all eight semesters under the fifth-year coach. Conti, a jack-of-all-trades player in his time at Delhi, will receive his Bachelor's in Mechatronics, while Cumisky, a solid close defender for all four years, is set to receive his Bachelor's in Construction Management.

Similar to how Canton opened the first meeting three weeks ago, the Broncos struck first with three straight goals in the opening period. Leading scorer Aidan Costello got the festivities underway with an unassisted goal just 54 seconds in, his first of seven on the day. Nearly ten minutes and a series of extra-man chances for both sides came and went before Brandon McGrath picked up Delhi's next score with 4:50 remaining, assisted by Jack McClurg. King White followed up with the first of his three-goal afternoon, assisted by Costello. The Roos got on the board late in the period on a man-up chance from Trent Down for a 3-1 Broncos lead after one. Canton tied the game in the second quarter on two straights scores from Kyle Fingar and Jacob Facey, the latter on another extra-man opportunity, to tie it up at three with 9:50 to go in the half. The Broncos busted the game open by scoring seven of the next eight goals in the period, including four from Costello and one apiece from McClurg, Nicholas Iannucci, and Sean Dalton, for a 10-4 Delhi lead at intermission.

The Broncos retained its edge with two straight scores to start the third with more scores from Costello and White. After another Canton goal, White earned his third goal of the day, while McClurg and Harrison Graizzaro each netted a score to counter two more Roos goals for a 15-7 lead after three. Dow began the fourth with the Roos' ninth and final goal of the contest, after which Delhi closed things out with four scores. Costello got his seventh score of the day on a McGrath assist, with the next two coming from Greg Junge on feeds from Costello and Logan Bauer, respectively, then finally Nick Dower from Zachary Seebach.

Broncos keeper Dante Restaino charted ten saves on the day to improve to 1-1 on the season. Delhi won 20-of-31 faceoffs, courtesy of 15 wins from Dower and five from Nick Scarpa. The Roos committed 23 turnovers, with the Broncos causing ten of them. The green and gold came through on 16-of-18 clears to Canton's 18-of-22, and outshot the Roos by a 62-37 margin.

Coach Miller's squad has two more NAC West games to play this week, starting with SUNY Cobleskill this Monday and SUNY Poly this Wednesday. Saturday's victory gives the Broncos a slim edge in the NAC West standings, with the potential to capture the second and final seed for the NAC West playoffs with at least one more win. Poly clinched the top spot in the NAC West with a perfect 5-0 division record; Cobleskill is fourth in the division at 0-5.
