DELHI, N.Y. (March 12, 2021) - The SUNY Delhi men's lacrosse team will make their long-awaited return to competition this Sunday, Mar. 14 when they travel to take on Morrisville State at 12 noon. The non-conference game will be played with respect to safety protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic. SUNY Delhi's last intercollegiate men's lacrosse game was on Mar. 7, 2020 at SUNY Brockport.
MORRISVILLE STATE SPECTATOR POLICY
Following guidelines established by New York State, the State University of New York (SUNY), local Department of Health, the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) and institutional policies, spectators will not be permitted to attend spring contests at SUNY Morrisville at this time.
The health and safety of student-athletes, coaches, staff and the campus community remains the highest priority and, in an effort to limit campus density, visitors from off-campus continue to be prohibited at SUNY Morrisville.
Likewise, as announced by SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras earlier this week, institutions seeking to resume intercollegiate athletics will refrain from having spectators at events until further notice. Additionally, the NEAC Presidents' Council announced that spectators are prohibited for all conference competition for spring 2021 - but do reserve the right to revisit the policy throughout the spring and make changes, if necessary.
New York State also currently prohibits spectators, fans or any audience from attending intercollegiate events, per its Higher Education Athletics Guidance (PDF).
Due to restrictions of spectators at events, SUNY Morrisville athletics will livestream all home lacrosse and softball events. Links to the video streams and live game statistics can be found on the athletics website and navigating to the team's schedule page.
SUNY Morrisville Athletics will continue to follow NCAA and New York State guidance, and updates will be made in accordance with any changes made by each organization.
SUNY Morrisville facilities and buildings continue to be open only for official college business and remain closed to the general public.
