WATERVILLE, Me. (March 29, 2021) - The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) today awarded freshman goalie James Sullivan (Bardonia, NY / Clarkstown HS South) as its Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week. Sullivan played his first full game in goal Saturday at SUNY Poly, a hotly-contested, back-and-forth NAC West matchup that resulted in a 9-8 overtime win for the Wildcats.

Despite the sudden defeat, Sullivan and the defense prevented the game from becoming a runaway Poly victory. The Wildcats opened with a 3-0 first quarter lead, after which Delhi held the NAC West preseason favorites scoreless for the next 37 minutes and 9 seconds, scoring six straight goals and shutting out Poly in the second and third quarters. Sullivan registered 11 saves, along with one team save, while earning two ground balls. The Clarkstown High School South graduate spent the first two games splitting halves with fellow goalie Dante Restaino. Delhi has not surrendered double-digit goals in any of its first three games this season.

Sullivan and the Broncos are back on the move this Saturday when they travel to face SUNY Canton in another NAC West showdown. Canton was chosen second in the NAC West Preseason Poll; Delhi was picked third.
