WATERVILLE, Me. (May 6, 2021) – Several members of the SUNY Delhi men's golf team added more awards following their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championship season with today's rollout of the NAC end-of-year honors. After securing both NAC and NAC West co-medalist honors, Jarrett McWilliams (Canandaigua, NY / Canandaigua Academy) earned NAC West Co-Player of the Year and was named to the NAC Sportsmanship Team. Fellow NAC West co-medalist Zach Barrett (West Winfield, NY / Mt. Markham) joined McWilliams with NAC West Co-Player of the Year honors, as well as being named the NAC Senior Scholar-Athlete. Head coach Dave Arehart earned NAC Coach of the Year, marking the second time in three years he has received this honor.

The Broncos, who boasted five talented seniors to lead the way this spring, lived up to their number-one ranking in the league's pre-championship poll to defend their NAC title. As hosts of the NAC West Championships on April 24, Delhi won with a 295 score, as McWilliams and Barrett finished tied for first with 72 scores. They moved on to play NAC East-champion Husson for the league crown on April 30, winning by a 318-335 score on a windy afternoon at The Orchards in South Haldey, Mass. McWilliams and Jason Cyr finished tied atop the leaderboard with 78 scores. It also marked the third straight year Delhi either won the NAC team or individual championship. The Broncos won with a 600 two-day score at the 2019 championships, with Daniel Christy winning the 2018 individual title with a 73 score as the team finished second in their first NAC appearance.

Barrett's academic record has spoken volumes over his last three years as a member of the golf team. Majoring in Business and Professional Golf Management, he earned SUNY Delhi's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2019-20 with a GPA in the 3.9 category. His accolades have included 2019 Second Team All-NAC and First Team USCAA All-American. Additionally, Barrett was twice named NAC Rookie of the Week in 2018.

SUNY Delhi has one more test this spring, with another shot at the USCAA National Championships this Monday and Tuesday at the Penn State Blue Course in State College, Pa. In what is likely to be the Broncos' final USCAA appearance, the team looks to finish strong after winning the 2017 national championship and placing second in 2018 and 2019.
