Golf Plays Host to Bronco Spring Invite

DELHI, N.Y. (April 17, 2021) – The SUNY Delhi golf teams felt right at home Saturday hosting the Broncos Spring Invitational at The College Golf Course. The Broncos welcomed local NAC partner SUNY Cobleskill and NCAA Division II competition in Le Moyne and St. Rose. Delhi and the latter two competed as teams on the men's side, with the Broncos finishing third with a 303 team score, led by Daniel Christy's 73 showing for third place individually. For the women, Erin Schowerer made her long-awaited return to the Delhi links, scoring a 97.

Zach Barrett was the Broncos' second finisher, scoring a 75 for seventh, while Brandon Palmer carded a 76 for ninth. Jarrett McWilliams clubbed a 79 to finish 14th, as Jason Cyr scored an 81 for 17th. Six Broncos competed individually, with freshman Tom Christoffersen chiseling in a 78 to take 12th. Thomas Long was next on that list for Delhi with an 82. John Williamson scored an 83, followed by Jordan Starley and Ryan Clark finishing with 86's and Peter Gasparino scoring an 89.

Le Moyne won the team and individual competition, as the Dolphins posted a 299 score, led by Nick Bove, who tallied an impressive 67 score. St. Rose took second with a 301 score as Matt Sweet led the Golden Knights with a 72.

The Broncos shift to a postseason mindset for next weekend's competition when they host the NAC West Championships, set for Saturday, April 24.
