BRONCOS OF THE WEEK (2/16): Isabella DuBois, Zach Barrett

BRONCOS OF THE WEEK (2/16): Isabella DuBois, Zach Barrett

DELHI, N.Y. (February 16, 2021) - The SUNY Delhi Athletics Broncos of the Week takes on a new meaning this semester. We are excited to collaborate with our community to highlight our local student-athletes, and turning to our Broncos who have excelled academically. Each week we will showcase our Broncos through "Nate Lull's Local Look" and our "Scholar Athlete Student Spotlight."

Nate Lull's Local Look: Isabella DuBois, Women's Soccer (Hobart, NY / South Kortright Central)

WCDO Sports Director Nate Lull is based in Sidney, NY and reports on high school sports in the counties that surround SUNY Delhi. Many of the athletes Nate covers continue their sports careers by joining the Bronco family. Each week Nate will highlight a local player he covered in high school who is now in college at SUNY Delhi.

This week Nate has selected Isabella DuBois from Women's Soccer. Isabella is a native of Hobart, NY.

Nate says: "Bella was a true standout and leader for the extremely successful program at South Kortright Central School. In her senior soccer season she scored 26 goals and dished out 5 assists. She was a first team league all-star and was selected to the all-state Class-D first team. Bella was also a talented basketball and softball player for the Rams. She was the definition of being a hard working 3-sport athlete in high school. It has been great to see her playing at SUNY Delhi with her older sister (Alexa DuBois) as well as several other SK grads."

Check back next week for another one of Nate's picks!

Scholar Athlete Student Spotlight: Zach Barrett, Men's Golf (West Winfield, NY / Mt. Markham)

During the 2019-20 academic year, Zach Barrett accomplished the rare feat of earning SUNY Delhi's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and being a First Team All-American. Now a senior and in his third year on the golf team, Zach was named a NAC Fall All-Academic and continues to hold the highest GPA on the team. His additional accolades on the links include Second Team All-NAC to help the Broncos to their first NCAA conference championship in 2019, and as a rookie twice earned the NAC's Rookie of the Week honor. Zach majors in the Business and Professional Golf Management program. He is also an active member in sports and recreation on campus, winning intramural tournaments in volleyball.
