DELHI, N.Y. (December 10, 2021) – The SUNY Delhi men's basketball squad returned to NAC West play Friday night hosting Northern Vermont Johnson, picking up where they left off with a 73-61 win. After a moderate opening ten minutes, the Broncos broke away from a slight 14-13 lead with a 13-2 run that put them comfortably ahead towards a 38-29 halftime lead. The Badgers drew to within four of Delhi early in the second half at 46-42, which the Broncos countered with a 17-4 run that sustained a double-digit lead for the rest of the contest.

Norman Wilson led the scoring production with 21 points, making 3-of-6 threes, packaged with eight rebounds. Lester McCarthy totaled 15 points with two 3-pointers, six rebounds, and three blocks. Mavenson Therneus nearly posted a double-double, garnering eight points and a game-high 13 boards, while Erhunosere Uwuigbe tallied eight points with six rebounds, as Pablo Quinones charted seven points with eight rebounds and two blocks.

SUNY Delhi fared 39.5 percent shooting (30-of-76), carrying a 7-of-29 factor from 3-point range and 6-of-13 on free throws. NVU Johnson totaled 32.4 percent (22-of-68), 4-of-15 from long range and 13-of-25 from the charity stripe. The Broncos outrebounded the Badgers, 57-45, including 20-16 on offensive boards. The largest disparity was the green and gold's ability to move quickly down the court, totaling a 14-4 lead in fastbreak points.
