Delhi, NY – Women's Soccer hosted MCLA in a late-night match on Tuesday, scoring the match winner in the 85th minute to remain unbeaten since their first match of the season. THE BASICS

Results: SUNY Delhi Broncos 1 | MCLA Trailblazers 0

Records: SUNY Delhi (6-1-2, 2-0-2) | MCLA (2-5-2, 0-3)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The first half saw the Broncos keep pressure on the Trailblazers' half, putting up 13 first-half shots to their two.

  • The second half was another stalemate as the green and gold kept the pressure yet couldn't quite find the back of the net, outshooting MCLA 12-1 in the second half.

  • Freshman Vanessa Sanchez (Jurupa Valley, CA) would be tested late in the second half, making an incredible tip save to send a long shot from MCLA over the bar.

  • Sanchez recorded her third clean sheet of the year, facing only three total shots that night.

  • The backline of freshmen Ava Britsch (Burlington, NJ), Ava Battista (Scarsdale, NY) , sophomore Ayla Vorisek (Delhi, NY), and freshman Kaitlyn Hines (Staten Island, NY) had a great match, stifling the opponent's attack all night.

  • The Broncos left it until the 85th minute when freshman Lizzetta Myers put away the match winner, her first in her green and gold career.

  • That marked Myers' fifth goal of the season, as the Broncos are 6-0-2 in their last eight matches
