WATERVILLE, Me. (October 30, 2021) – SUNY Delhi men's cross country posted stellar performances on their way to a second-place finish at Saturday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championships at Thomas College. Delhi's 8K journey was spurred on by junior Seth Bywater earning runner-up in a time of 27:42.7, with just ten seconds separating him from the frontrunner.

The Broncos, who were ranked second entering the race in the pre-championship poll, lived up to expectations with 54 points, as did poll favorite and champion SUNY Cobleskill, who earned 31 points and Eamonn Sullivan garnering gold-medal honors at 27:32.0

Closely following Bywater was John Amenta (28:39.2) and Aidan Cutting (28:44.5) finishing sixth and seventh, respectively, which secured all three First Team All-NAC. Rounding out the top-five scoring spots was Lewis Race (29:25.8) and Mathew Sabolenko (30:39.6) with their 14th and 25th place respective finishes, with Race earning Second Team honors. Sam Lees finished 29th at 30:56.2 and Caleb Jeralds 33rd at 31:06.8.

"I am proud of how the men raced today. Seth had an amazing race, it was great to see him so locked in. John and Aidan had tremendous efforts as well, earning first team all-conference accolades. We have a talented group of men, with some of them brining their best efforts to the meet today, the competition was tough, but I am happy with how our men showed up to compete." - Head Coach Zach Brown

"Proud of how everyone carried themselves today. We have been working really hard all season and I'm happy with how everyone performed today. All the pieces are there, we just need to put them together on the same day. I'm really looking forward to seeing the men race at regionals. We still have some very good performances left in the tank." - Coach Ben Finnigan

The Broncos take their skills back to SUNY Geneseo in two weeks for a return engagement from their Oct. 2 meet to compete in their first NCAA regional championships as full-time NCAA Division III members.
