Men's Runners Take Second at Le Moyne Invitational

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (September 4, 2021) - The Broncos men's cross country team had a strong showing at the six-kilometer Le Moyne College Invitational Saturday, posting 46 points to place second, just two points behind SUNY ESF and nine points ahead of their NCAA Division II hosts, with the likes of SUNY Broome, Daemen, and Morrisville State also in the mix.

John Amenta (19:51.4) and Seth Bywater (19:55.5) led the men's team with third and fourth place finishes, respectively. Lewis Race (21:20.2) and Lorenzo Castro (21:31.2) pulled in with respective 11th and 12th place spots, while Aidar Matthews anchored the team scoring in 16th at 21:45.4. Caleb Jeralds ran 22:16.4 for 23rd place as Sam Lees was 33rd through the shoot at 23:03.2.

"I was really impressed with how the men finished" said head coach Zach Brown. "We looked very strong today, with a few very impressive performances. The guys really listened to the race plan and were executed."

The race marked the Broncos' second in four days. The team has a week of rest and practice as they gear up for next Saturday's Vassar Invitational.
