Men's Harriers Collect Dominant Win at Hartwick

ONEONTA, N.Y. (September 1, 2021) -The SUNY Delhi men's cross country team kicked off with the first meet of the season today at Hartwick College's Dick Daymont Season Opener. Facing off against the host Hawks and SUNY Oneonta, the Broncos won the meet by placing five in the top six for a staggering 17 points.

The men's team was led by Aidan Cutting covering the hilly course in 13:32.29 for first. Cutting was followed closely by Seth Bywater in second (13:41.72) and John Amenta third (13:46.72). Placing fifth was freshman Lorenzo Castro (14:10.50) and freshman Aidar Matthews rounding out the scoring with a sixth-place time of 14:14.72. Completing the race for Delhi was Samuel Lees (14:38.19), Caleb Jeralds (14:58.72), Gavin Fetterman (15:26.75), Allen Lawton 16:35.87), William Waller (17:16.05), and Dimitri Cash (17:38.20).

"This was a great start to the season. Very happy with how we performed today. I was very impressed with how our freshman competed in their first college meet," said head coach Zach Brown. "Amazing effort all around. I was really happy to see the team compete hard in the rainy conditions," related Ben Finnigan.

Next up for the men is the Le Moyne College Invitational this Saturday, Sept. 4.
