Men's Runners Second at Oneonta Airfield Invite

ONEONTA, N.Y. (September 18, 2021) - The SUNY Delhi men's cross country team showed mid-season form at this year's Oneonta Airfield 6K Invitational, finishing second behind the host Red Dragons with 35 points to O-State's 24. 

SUNY's green and red frontrunners alternated the top six finishes, with Seth Bywater in second at 20:04.8, John Amenta fourth at 20:12.9, and Aidan Cutting sixth at 20:33.6. Five more Red Dragons crossed the finish line before the next Bronco crossed, with the honors belonging to Lewis Race in 14th at 21:47.5. Mathew Sabolenko completed the team scoring in 17th at 21:57.9, with Caleb Jeralds behind him in 18th at 22:06.4.

Sam Lees ran 23rd with a time of 22:25.9, then consecutive finishes between 25th to 27th by Asher Waller (22:57.8), Bladimir Pena (23:10.3), and Gavin Fetterman (23:16.3). Dimitri Cash placed 34th with a time of 27:50.3. 

"Some solid performances today all around. Not quite the outcome I was looking for, however I cannot complain. Just need to rest up on this off week and prepare for Geneseo," said coach Ben Finnigan. 

As aforementioned by Coach Finnigan, the Broncos' first 8K challenge of 2021 is the SUNY Geneseo Mike Woods Invitational regional preview, set for Saturday, Oct. 2 at 12 noon.
