Men's Harriers 19th at First 8K Challenge in Geneseo Regional Preview

GENESEO, N.Y. (October 2, 2021) – The SUNY Delhi men's cross country program secured a top-20 finish Saturday at SUNY Geneseo's 8K Mike Woods Invitational, getting a good exposure of the course they will return to next month for their first NCAA Regional. The Broncos took 19th with 494 points, led by Seth Bywater's career-best time of 26:14.9 to place 54th in the 400-plus runner field.

Sophomore John Amenta cruised in at 66th in his 8K college debut with a time of 26:29.7. Aidan Cutting was Delhi's third finisher, taking a mark of 27:44.3, with Lewis Race coming in next for the green and gold at 28:05.0. Mathew Sabolenko closed out the team scoring with a time of 28:05.0. Also running for the Broncos was Celab Jeralds at 29:18.0 and Sam Lees at 31:59.4

With a course preview under their belts, SUNY Delhi will take its next three races to build towards the return to Geneseo for the NCAA Niagara Region Championships on Saturday, Nov. 13. Delhi will host the annual Bronco Midweek Classic this Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. at The College Golf Course, then round out the regular season at the Rowan College Inter-Regional Border Battle on Oct. 16. The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championships is set for Oct. 30 at Thomas College.
