HANOVER, N.H. (September 29, 2019) – Captain Madison Saleman's epic three-set win at four singles boosted the SUNY Delhi women's tennis team to their first win of the season Saturday against NAC foe Northern Vermont Lyndon. After she and partner Susan Hoskins won a tiebreaker at two doubles, 9-8 (5), Saleman captured her solo match, 7-5, 2-6, 6-3, to give the Broncos a 5-4 victory.

Delhi won by way of capturing two doubles contests and three singles matches, with three Broncos earning two-win days. The top team of Mackenzie Landman and Hailey Gundersen downed Emilie Dube and Savannah Jackson, 8-3, to go with Saleman and Hoskins' runoff victory at two versus Faibe Achinda and Erica Hayakawa. Landman and Gundersen went on to win their singles contests at one and two, respectively. As Gundersen swept Rebekah Delgado in the two spot by matching 6-0 scores, Landman topped Emilie Dube with a 7-6 (1), 6-2 victory. This set the stage for Saleman's showdown with Achinda, edging out a tight first set, then bouncing back from a second-set defeat to win the third frame. Hoskins also went three sets in her five singles match against Oo Mai Be, coming back from a 6-4 defeat in set one to flip the score at set two. Be won the last one, 6-2.

The ladies are now 1-10 on the year and 1-4 in the NAC. Delhi continues its Northern Vermont tour on Sunday when the Broncos face off against fellow NAC competitor Northern Vermont Johnson at 10:00 a.m.
