Broncos Pull Out New Women's School Record, One Win, PRs at Armory Last Chance

NEW YORK, N.Y. (February 24, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi women's and men's track and field teams finished their indoor regular season Saturday at the Armory Last Chance Invite. Madeeah Oranchak set a new women's school record in the 200m to highlight Delhi's day. The Broncos also earned one victory, while several others posted personal bests

Oranchak set a program record in the 200 meters, placing second with a time of 25.96, breaking the previous record of 26.61 set by Perry Brown in 2005. She then teamed up with Susan Hoskins, Ashley Magnifico, Arielle Moheimani to take first in the 4x400, clocking in at a season-best 4:20.69. Moheimani earned a new personal best in the 800 meters with a time of 2:28.52, as did Tristen Bowker in the one mile with a mark of 6:11.97 and Jaylynn Sheppard in the 60 meters at 8.37. Magnifico set a new season high in the 400m, taking seventh with a time of 1:04.24.

On the men's side, Kobie Lane set a new personal best in the one mile run with a second-place mark of 4:21.22. Lucas Reilly also set a new personal high in the 5000 meters with a second-place finish of 15:59.01, as well as Mike Moran in the 800 meters, taking seventh at 1:58.22, and Gilbert Boateng in the 200 meters, finishing 21st at 23.31. Sean Andrews earned a new PR in the 400 meters with a 12th-place ledger of 52.16, while Brandon Holliday earned one of his own in the weight throw, placing third at 15.98m. The 4x400 squad of Moran, Andrews, Esdras Charles and Keyshawn Clark-Wells set a new season best after taking third with a time of 3:26.25. Nicholas Arnecke (8:50.03) and Jon Messler (9:07.76) grabbed second and third, respectively, in the 3000 meters, while Michael Beebe finished third in the high jump at 2.00m.

The indoor season continues for head coach Robb Munro and three Broncos when they take on the NAIA Indoor National Championships next weekend at Pittsburg State in Kansas. Arnecke will compete in the 5K, while Lane qualified for the 3K and Beebe is set to take flight in the high jump.
