Men's Tennis Returns to Action at Thomas

WATERVILLE, Me. (April 15, 2018) – After an 11-day gap to coincide with spring break, the SUNY Delhi men's tennis team returned to the court Sunday for a road competition at Thomas. The Broncos suffered a 9-0 defeat to the Terriors.

Aside from what happened on the court, the match was a foreshadow of things to come, as SUNY Delhi and Thomas will become NAC conference opponents starting next year. The Broncos were recently approved NAC associate membership for the 2018-19 season for men's tennis, men's golf, men's lacrosse and men's and women's track and field; women's tennis will join the conference for 2019-20.

Thomas took the two and three doubles matches Saturday with matching 8-0 scores. The one doubles team of Robert Zawadzki and Lac Van earned a set win against Ryan Chasse and Zachary Disch in their 8-1 defeat. The Terriors went on to win all six singles matches in straight sets. Zawadzki, Van, Jefferson Iliev and Joe O'Halloran each combined for a pair of set wins in the top four respective spots. Michael Beebe and Payton Dean each won a set at five and six singles, respectively.

The Broncos' next competition sees them traveling to Sage on Tuesday for a match at 4:00 p.m.
