SUNY Delhi Men's Golf 2022 Season Preview

Delhi- The SUNY Delhi Men's Golf team returns for the 2022 season with a bolstered roster, ready for another successful season under head coach Dave Arehart.

Arehart is Delhi's longest-tenured acting coach and will be going into his 26th season at the helm of the golf program. He has two NAC Coach of the Year awards under his belt in just four years in the conference.

Following a second-place finish in last years league championships, the Broncos are looking to make another run at the NAC conference title in 2022.

"We have a great group of returners that are anxious to compete," said coach Areheart, "alongside a nice blend of a new group that is eager to make their mark."

Delhi's top returners include Thomas Christoffersen who led the group last year. He was awarded 1st team All-Conference after capitalizing on an excellent Sophomore year with a third-place finish at the NAC Championships. Christofferson is joined by Sean Gordon who ended his 2021 season strong. Gordon was named to the NAC Sportsmanship Team and will look to step up in his Junior year.

They will be accompanied by five newcomers including two transfers Will Good Jr. and Sean Mahoney.

"Our goal remains to be competitive in the NAC Conference and compete for the conference championship", said Arehart on pre-season expectations.

The Golf team will kick off their season on September 3rd at the Cobleskill Invitational. They then follow it up with their only home match of the year at the College Golf Course at Delhi the next day, September 4th.

The Broncos will then travel to the George Cangero Invitational for the first time in over five years on September 17th and 18th. They will then start to prepare for the most notable of the meets this year, when they have the NAC Conference Championship on October 8th and 9th.
