WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (November 17, 2019) – Overtime is where the SUNY Delhi men's basketball team found their victory Sunday at Pennsylvania College of Technology, outscoring the Wildcats, 17-10, in the decisive five-minute session for a 112-105 high-scoring victory. The Broncos closed out their stay at the Crosstown Challenge with a win after a narrow defeat to Lycoming Saturday to improve to 2-1 on the year.

Delhi entered halftime in front, 60-52, after an electric first half that saw the Broncos shoot 55.0 percent (22-for-40) and the Wildcats 54.3 percent (19-for-35), as well as both teams making five 3-pointers. The second half made for a more modest scoring affair, but had PCT in front, 93-89, with two minutes remaining. The Broncos scored the next six points for a 95-93 lead with seconds left. A late foul put Wildcats Mason Bossert on the line, who made both free throws to send the game to overtime tied a 95-95. The green and gold opened the extra period with an 8-1 run, and though the Wildcats made three 3-pointers to cut the Broncos' lead to four points twice, it did little to rattle Delhi, who countered by making 9-of-10 free throws and 4-of-7 field goals.

Sunday's game featured ten lead changes, as Delhi once held as much as a 15-point lead in the first half. Both the deep ball and free throws played major factors. The Broncos made 43.2 percent shooting (38-for-88), making 7-of-31 threes and 29-of-42 free throws, while the Wildcats shot 51.4 percent (36-for-70), converting on 14-of-30 from behind the arc and 19-of-26 free throws. Delhi held a slim 47-44 lead in rebounds and 48-42 in points in the paint. The Broncos also forced the Wildcats into 20 turnovers, cashing them in for 20 points.

Jordan Fragale led the game with 28 points, making 10-of-17 field goals. Justin Daoud and Glenn Butler each made 16 points, with Butler collecting seven rebounds and Daoud six boards. Norman Wilson finished with 11 points and eight rebounds, as Mavenson Therneus tallied ten points with five rebounds. Payton Dean notched seven points with five boards, while Darius Hines netted nine points.

Head coach Zack Thomsen's team has a short rest, as they are back on the road this Tuesday to play Cazenovia at 7:00 p.m. The Broncos then finish up their five-game road trip to start the season at Alfred Friday at 7:00 p.m. before opening their home season versus Centenary on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
