Christopher Mason '09

Christopher Mason was the only two-time NJCAA Cross Country National Champion, winning in 2007 and 2008 and helping the Broncos win back-to-back team National Championships. His track and field career also matched that level of success. Mason became a seven-time NJCAA All-American, including back-to-back National Titles in both the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters. His fourth-place finish in the 2008 half marathon stands as the fastest time for a NJCAA Division III runner, clocking in at 1:11.26. Mason's distinction reached a new stratosphere when he received the 2009 David Rowlings Award, the highest honor a male junior college student-athlete can receive. He became Delhi's only-ever recipient, and the NJCAA's first-ever honoree from the sports of Cross Country and Track and Field. Mason continued his career at Middle Tennessee State University, receiving numerous All-Sun Belt Conference honors. Originally from Auburn, N.Y., Mason returned to Auburn High School, his alma mater, where he serves as a coach for the Cross Country and Track and Field programs.
