The 1991-92 men's basketball team was the first in Delhi's history to win 30 games with a 30-4 record. They entered the NJCAA National Tournament ranked second nationally after winning the Mountain Valley Conference championship and the program's first-ever Region 3 title. Led by National Coach of the Year Gary Cole, Delhi finished fourth at the national championship, defeating Montgomery C.C. and Union County College. Their only tournament loss came in double overtime to Rhode Island College in what some still consider to be the most exciting game in Broncos basketball history. Guard Tim Reynolds was named First Team All-American and Region 3 Player of the Year, ranking among the nation's top scorers with 29 points per game. Forwards Sam Allen and Mel Hathaway and guard Bob Law were recognized to the All-Region 3 Team.
