Soccer
Christina Intartaglia, a member of the SUNY Delhi Soccer Team from 2005 to 2006, was the first women’s soccer player in college history to be named NJCAA First Team All-American. In 2006, she set a number of school records and led the Broncos to their first trip to Regionals. Intartaglia possessed amazing foot skills and her constant positive attitude coupled with her unselfish teamwork and love for the game earned her captain’s status. She was named Delhi’s Athlete of the Year in May 2007. After earning an associate’s degree in Sports Management, Intartaglia went on to play in Division II for two years at Dowling College, earning a bachelor degree in Business Administration. She then furthered her education at Suffolk Community College and ultimately earned a master’s degree in Interpretation for the Deaf from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. Intartaglia returned to her hometown of Islip, NY where she now serves as an interpreter for people who are deaf or deaf and blind. She continues to avid supporter of the Broncos women’s soccer, attending practices and motivating new teams. She is a shining example of a team player committed to helping people succeed and her impact extends far beyond the soccer field.
