Jestina McPherson Dawson '04

Cross Country/Track & Field

Jestina McPherson-Dawson was a three-time Cross Country and Track & Field NJCAA All-American during her career at SUNY Delhi, twice in cross country, 1999 and 2000, and once in track in the steeplechase. She was a member of the National Championship cross country team in 1999. This marked the college's first Women's National team title in any sport! She also earned All-Region and All-Conference honors several times. McPherson-Dawson received the Coach's Award for cross country and track and field and was the two-time recipient of Delhi's Female Athlete of the year in 2000 and 2001. She also qualified and competed both years at the National Indoor Track Championships and competed on the swimming and diving team. Dawson-McPherson attended Union Endicott High School. She is a loyal supporter of her Delhi alma mater. Since graduating she has continued to run many road races while raising five children and teaching Culinary Arts at Broome Tioga BOCES.
