High-Scoring Samiaya Salley Awarded ACAA Player of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (December 12, 2017) – Sophomore guard and SUNY Delhi's leading scorer Samiaya Salley (Highland Falls, NY / James I. O'Neill) received her first ACAA Player of the Week honor for the week ending December 10. Salley, who ranks fourth in all USCAA with 24.2 ppg., led all scorers in each of the Broncos' three games this week, including a career-best 39-point showing, to help the team to a 9-4 record.

Salley began her week netting 24 points with eight rebounds in Delhi's 86-83 NIAC win over College of St. Joseph on Tuesday. She was one of three Broncos to score 20-plus points against the Fighting Saints, with Camryn McDonald and Kiera Holland each netting 21 points. The Highland Falls, NY native followed up with her second 30-point showing of the season, scoring 33 of Delhi's season-high 96 points in the Broncos' 96-67 rout of Penn State Hazleton on Friday night. Salley made 14-of-25 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds. Finally, the James I. O'Neill graduate reeled in a career-best 39 points and tallied 12 rebounds against Keuka on Sunday for her second double-double of the season. Salley connected on 15-of-24 from the floor and 3-of-5 from 3-point range.
