Steady Broncos Remain at Six in New USCAA Poll

USCAA BASKETBALL COACHES POLL - WEEK THREE

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (December 14, 2017) – After yet another impressive week for the 9-4 SUNY Delhi women's basketball team, the Broncos held on to their number-six ranking in the USCAA Division II Coaches Poll for the third straight week. Delhi received 364 points in the newest poll, two points up from last week.

Head coach Vicki Andruszkiewicz's squad pulled out a pair of home wins to go 2-1 this past week. The first win came in an 86-83 NIAC victory over College of St. Joseph last Tuesday, and the second saw the Broncos put up a year-best 96 points in a 96-67 rout of Penn State Hazleton on Friday. Sophomore guard and Delhi's leading scorer Samiaya Salley earned ACAA Player of the Week honors as she combined for 96 points over the three contests, including a career-high 39 points against Keuka on Sunday and 33 points against Hazleton. Salley, who ranks third in all USCAA with 24.2 ppg., led all scorers in each contest. Freshman guard/forward Camryn McDonald recorded her first career triple-double versus Hazleton with 23 points, 25 rebounds and 11 assists. She has nine double-doubles this season.

Central Maine stayed at number one for the second straight week with 398 points. Johnson and Wales-Charlotte was ranked second, followed by Maine Augusta in third, Warren Wilson fourth and Villa Maria fifth.

The Broncos have one more test before winter break when they host Maine Machias on Monday, December 18 at 1:00 p.m.
