Women Retain Number-Six Ranking in Second USCAA Poll

USCAA BASKETBALL POWER RANKINGS - WEEK TWO

NORFOLK, Va. (December 7, 2017) – The USCAA released its second set of women's basketball power rankings for the 2017-18 season. SUNY Delhi retained its sixth-place ranking from last week's initial Division II poll, but now hold that rank solely with 362 points.

The Broncos were tied with Georgia Northwest Technical in last week's poll, who have dropped down to 13th this week with 295 points.

Head coach Vicki Andruszkiewicz's team picked up two straight victories this week to climb to 8-3 on the year. After dropping two straight entering Thanksgiving break, the Broncos quickly rebounded with an 84-51 win at Pratt on Friday and an 86-83 home win versus College of St. Joseph on Tuesday. Samiaya Salley and Kiera Holland each combined for 45 points over both games, with Salley ranking fifth in all USCAA with 22.0 ppg. Camryn McDonald picked up her seventh double-double of the season against CSJ with 21 points and a staggering 18 rebounds. The freshman averages a double-double with 12.8 ppg. and 12.4 rpg., ranking seventh in USCAA Division II in boards.

Central Maine ranked atop the Division II poll with 395 points, while Maine-Augusta, last week's chart-topper, dropped to second with 390 points. Johnson and Wales Charlotte held on to its third-place ranking, while Villa Maria and Warren Wilson were tied for fourth.

The Delhi women are set to host Penn State Hazleton on Friday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m., followed by Keuka on Sunday, December 9 at 1:00 p.m. in Floyd L. Maines Arena.
